Dr. Keesling graduated from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 1986. She earned her medical doctor (MD) degree from the University of Kansas Medical School in 1992 and completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Kansas in 1996. Dr. Keesling completed her fellowship in pediatric radiology at Duke University in 1997.

Dr. Keesling is certified by the American Board of Radiology specializing in Diagnostic Radiology.
